About Us
Yellow Creek Veterinary Surgery and Imaging has been offering outstanding animal care in Akron, Ohio since 2000. We care for dogs and cats and offer a wide range of services for pets of every breed. We offer multiple orthopedic surgeries as well as many soft tissue surgical procedures. Our practice is one of the few in our area to offer CT Scans. If your pet requires a procedure that is not listed on our site, please contact our office and our staff will be happy to provide an estimate for you.

Our Team
Veterinarian
Dr. John Owen
Dr. Owen is from the Akron, Ohio area and graduated from Akron Firestone High School in 1987. After graduating high school, Dr. Owen enlisted in the U.S. Army and served our country for 3 years as a combat medic. After an honorable discharge and several medals, he attended Mount Union College for his undergraduate degree. A member of the first National Championship Purple Raider football team in 1993, Dr. Owen received the GE/CoSIDA award as an Academic All American. Dr. Owen is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. In his spare time, Dr.Owen enjoys spending time with his daughter, his family and friends, and hiking.

Michelle
Michelle has worked with Dr.Owen since 2012. When she isn't working, Michelle loves spending time with her husband, her son, and her multiple furry children. Michelle is also an avid reader and occasionally judges local cat shows for 4H.

Nick
Nick has been a part of Dr. Owen's team since 2012. Nick is a local farmer in his area and a show cattle breeder. His cattle can be seen in various shows across the United States. When he isn't busy farming, Nick enjoys hanging out with his son and girlfriend.

Kaleigh has been with our practice since 2021. She enjoys hiking and spending time with her dog, Marlo, and her family in her spare time.

Abbi joined our team in 2022. In her free time, Abbi enjoys riding ATVs, spending time with her family and pets, and gardening.
